Public status pages

Status page versus status widget

Choose between a full customer-facing status page and a compact widget embedded on your website.

A public status page is a standalone place to explain service health; a WebCheck widget is a compact status card embedded in a page you already control. Both are public, but they show different amounts of information.

Choose a status page for service updates

A status page can show selected components, their current states and recent history, incident history, public notes, branding and a maintenance message. It has its own public link and can use a verified custom domain. Use it when customers need one destination for service updates.

Choose a widget for a quick summary

A widget fits into an existing website. It summarizes the WebCheck site’s status and can show uptime or current availability, average response time and the last check. Its display can be styled and some details can be hidden. It does not show the status page’s component list, incident history or public notes.

The status labels can differ

Status pages use Operational, Degraded, Unavailable and a manually selected Maintenance state. A widget can also show Offline when WebCheck has a confirmed open incident. The two displays summarize status differently, so their labels are not a one-to-one mapping.

Both features publish information for visitors. Choose customer-safe names and details before sharing either one. See Creating a public status page and Using the WebCheck status widget for setup.
